Hildenborough History Society
It all began with the “Historic Hildenborough” exhibit in the Jim England Room at the Village Hall. Phil and Lyn Porter composed this stunning display of Hildenborough pictures which adorn the walls in 14 large frames.
Residents and visitors alike were effusive in their praise and the depth of their interest prompted the formation of our Society. For two years this was informal but, in October 2014, we became fully constituted. Our expanding archive is housed in the Green room behind the stage and, in due course, residents will have access to it.
New members are welcome!
We meet quarterly and following a business meeting we have talks on fascinating topics by speakers from within and outside the Society. Members pay a fee of £5 per annum and any visitor is required to pay £2 per visit.
Visit our website which went live in May 2014. We have already had enquiries from North America, Australia, Europe and many locations in the UK and this has lead to new material for our archive. We are thirsty for any information that will fill gaps in our knowledge of Hildenborough’s past so that we can pass on to our descendants a well rounded history of the Village.
